How Do I Know If I'm Gay or not ?!!!

For many people, determining whether or not they are gay is a difficult task. Some people are certain of their sexual orientation from a young age, while others take considerably longer.

Only you can decide whether you are gay or not in the end, however there are certain questions and information you can think about while you try to figure out your feelings.

What Does Being Gay Imply?

Gay men and women are sexually attracted to and may fall in love with other gay men and women. They may have feelings for someone of a different gender, but they identify as gay. Some people discover they are gay at a young age, while others discover it much later. Some young homosexual individuals may see that they are different from their friends or peers, but they are unaware why or how. Forget everything you think that you recognize about homosexuals.

There are many of stereotypes out there about gay people, but like with any stereotype, you can't assume that they are true for everyone. There is no such thing as a "gay" mannerism or look. Preferences, appearances, hobbies, and style differ greatly from person to person, as they do with any group of individuals.

Just because you're gay doesn't imply everyone will immediately recognize you. Most homosexual people don't wear signs announcing their sexual orientation, and chances are you already know a lot of gay people who don't fit the 'gay stereotype.'

What Does It Mean If I Have Sexual Fantasies?

Although it is not always easy to interpret sexual thoughts, research has revealed that many persons who do not identify as gay have had same gender desires at some point. It's not necessary to be gay just because you think about having a same-gender sexual experience. Furthermore, many young people have several vivid sexual dreams about various people and scenarios. Their feelings and inclinations will usually become more evident as they grow older.

- Sexuality is a fluid concept.

If you're having trouble making sense of your emotions, it may help to realize that sexuality isn't simply divided into two categories: homosexual or straight. Our greatest knowledge of sexuality is that it is flexible and highly personal. Some people identify as 100 percent gay or 100 percent straight, while others identify as somewhere on the gay-straight spectrum.

Unfortunately, no one can tell you whether or not you are gay 100 percent of the time; only you can determine that. However, there are a few more questions to ponder. Is it frequently about the same gender in your dreams or fantasies? Do you have sentiments for someone of the same gender that are romantic and loving? Do you think you're distinct from other people of your gender? Do you have strong sentiments for the same gender on a frequent basis?

Even if you answered yes to these questions, you may still be unsure of your sexual orientation. That's OK. It may take some time for you to feel confident in your decision. Reaching out to those who have been in similar situations can be beneficial for many people. Looking for community support through an LGBT group online or in your region can help you sort through some of your thoughts. Look for local help on the internet.

One thing to remember: it's perfectly fine to be yourself, whether you're straight, gay, or bisexual.
