Is stefania spampinato in Relationship?

exclusive interview with Stefania Spampinato about her Life from zero to hero

                                               EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW!!

Interviewer – welcome to those who are still awake or don’t want to sleep, and welcome to those who want to understand more about Stefania Spampinato, the actress. Today you’re an actress, but before you became an actress, how many steps? Some?
Stefania : Yeah, some. Not too many but there have been some…
Interviewer: I read you worked as a waitress too.
Stefania: Yeah, absolutely!
Interviewer: You started as a dancer. What‘s the story behind it? First of all you were born in Catania, we’ll talk later about Catania and Sicily…

Stefania: Yes, i used to be born in Catania and that i thought my dream was to become a lawyer, instead I started working in tourist villages during summer.
Interviewer: You wanted to be a lawyer?
Stefania: Yes, actually I attended classical highschool , and once I was 15 I started working as an entertainer during a tourist village and that i had to try to to a musical, it was in Vulcano. I studied dancing but I didn’t realize it could are employment and instead, there, I met people that pushed me to review in Milan.
Interviewer: So from Catania, your first stop was…?
Stefania: Milan.
Interviewer: And Belpasso.
Stefania: Yes, Belpasso it’s where I grew up.
Interviewer: So Catania, Belpasso and then Milan.
Stefania: studied dancing, acting and singing.
Interviewer: back then there wasn’t Siani (Alessandro Siani)?
Stefania: No.
Interviewer: You met him later, the foremost beautiful day of…
Stefania: the foremost beautiful day within the world (Il giorno più bello del mondo).
Interviewer: is that the meeting with me one among the foremost beautiful days of your life?
Stefania: One of them, one to remember!
Interviewer: So, we were saying…
Stefania: I arrived in Milan, and that i studied there for 3 years and after the graduation I worked there then I moved to London where I worked as a dancer for 5 years.
Interviewer: Because you studied dancing. Do you still know how to dance?
Stefania: Yeah… I’m good.
Interviewer: Do you have a favourite dance?
Stefania: Lately it’s tango. So I arrived in London and that i worked in some tv shows like X Factor, The Voice. I worked with some English artists. I also worked with Kylie Minogue. And then uninterested in the London rain, I wondered where I could have gone. Somewhere where there is the sun. I visited LA, I went there for five days. I had only few days so it had been like “let’s see how it is”…
Interviewer: Were you alone?
Stefania: Yes, I just knew some people, because some dancers worked both in London and LA.
Interviewer: So what happened? In LA, it happens what it was supposed to happen.
Stefania: Getting to London was perfect, easy. In LA it was a disaster. I had an hard time.
It was like “I don’t want to dance anymore, I don’t know what to do, I want to act or do I want to keep dancing?” Then I started taking acting class and that i fell crazy with acting again, the flame rekindled for the acting, and that i said “I want to try to to this”.
Interviewer: How old were you?
Stefania: 29.
Interviewer: So?
Stefania: So i made a decision I didn’t want to bop . I wanted to be an actress and that i started working as a waitress, because you can’t just awaken at some point and begin working as an actress. So I found employment in an Italian restaurant in Beverly Hills , a Sicilian restaurant. And then I found my first agent, and he wasn’t the foremost qualified one but he made me do some auditions. He was really helpful. I did a monologue and since then I found a more qualified agent and that i found another jobs, I played in two episodes of a tv series, I played in Glee then I made my first feature . I got paid 500$, so I couldn’t pack up as a waitress then everything changed due to a lady . I did a workshop with a casting director who said I wasn’t represented by a manager strong enough. And she said “I’ll introduce you to some agents I work with” and 2 of them decided to meet me. One of them told me “Let’s try this”. After 4 months, he made me do the audition for Grey’s Anatomy and it had been the primary audition I did for him and that i won it.

Iterviewer: And did your life change?
Stefania: My life changed all of a sudden!
Interviewer: So this one was the real changing moment in your path?
Stefania: Yes, absolutely.
Interviewer: And yours it’s a particular role?
Stefania: a specific role that i actually love because it’s not the standard Italian cliché. Carina is an Italian doctor who has a thought for a study about women brain activity during masturbation and orgasm. So “boom”, I arrived with this funny role. Then my character had a relationship with one among the leading of the series. The fans appreciated it, so from just 2 episodes I had to do, now it’s already the third season I’m doing.
Interviewer: But the world’s best day it still had to happen?
Stefania: Well GA it’s in the top 5, it was a great day. When they told me, I cried, i used to be happy, I laughed , I danced.
Interviewer: and through all of this, what about your family? Do you have a sister, a brother?
Stefania: I even have one brother and one sister, both of them are older than me. Oh my god, I’m already starting to cry, I know it.
Interviewer: Why?
Stefania: Because, “argh”…
Interviewer: Stay strong!
Stefania: I can do this.
Interviewer: We touched a weak spot?
Stefania: Yes…
Interviewer: Why?
Stefania: Because I lost my mother 2 years before I knew about Grey’s. So Grey’s arrived after some adversity both emotionally and from a working point of view…
Interviewer: you recognize , someone may say that it had been your mother from the opposite side of the planet unsure which one, that made this possible. Do you believe it?
Stefania: Absolutely. Also because I did my audition on the day of her birthday and that i started shooting the day of her name-day…
Interviewer: So you lost your mother, what about your father?
Stefania: My dad remains alive, he lives in Belpasso. I really care about my family. I have 4 nephews.
Interviewer: Do you go back to Belpasso sometimes?
Stefania: Yes, always. I attempt to go there a minimum of twice a year.
Interviewer: And where do you live now?
Stefania: Now, I’ve been living in LA for 9 years, but Sicily is home. My roots are there.
Interviewer: But we were saying, there’s the foremost beautiful day of the planet . We’re getting there. Are there some other steps before that?
Stefania: After the success in GA, my followers have multiplied and that i felt the urgency to talk about something that had an impression . My followers go from 12yrs old to 18yrs old, so I wanted to give them something that has value and I dedicated to the environment defense. So I gave advice on the way to be more eco-friendly, then I organized a plastic collection day on Italian beaches with the WWF. It started from Catania and Fiorello helped me spread the word.
Interviewer: So you also met Fiorello? He is Sicilian like you!
Stefania: He’s amazing. It was really amazing meeting him and talking with him about this. He did a slogan “Arricugghiemu ‘a plastica” meaning “Let’s collet plastic” and this was shown by some news and that i think Alessandro saw me in one them and wondered who I was. The day after it, I got 4 calls: from Alessandro’s casting director and from the WWF president.
Interviewer: When did this happen?
Stefania: May of last year.
Interviewer: And were you in Italy?
Stefania: Yes, i used to be in Italy doing this thing with the WWF and so…
Interviewer: then the foremost beautiful day became reality, again.
Stefania: Again.
Interviewer: How was the meeting with Siani? What did you say in the phone call?
Stefania: The call was with the casting director and that we decided the day. Two days later I visited Rome to satisfy Alessandro and he talked about the movie. So I didn’t make an audition, he showed me what the movie appeared like .
Interviewer: You were the one he was looking for!
Stefania: Yeah, luckily. He told me the story behind the movie. During the movie – he always says this – I cried like 70 times and he was like “are we doing the proper thing, is that this a comedy? Because she’s always crying”. But this is a special movie, because it makes you laugh but it’s also emotional. It causes you to believe life and what really matters, from family to emotions.
Interviewer: And in the movie, who are you?
Stefania: I’m a scientist who deals with children with supernatural abilities, then she watches a video of this kid on youtube and she or he decides to travel see what it’s happening. And I meet Arturo Meraviglia (Alessandro Siani). Two characters who don't have anything in common but that in how they share love towards this kid then they’re linked…
Interviewer: Then you attend the cinema to ascertain what happens. Earlier you talked about the meaning of life. What do you think about the meaning of life? When does life has a meaning? And when it doesn’t? And what does one mean with the word meaning?
Stefania: for therefore long, i assumed love was the meaning of life. Recently, during a dinner with some friends, i feel I changed my idea. I think what makes us proceed it’s the uncertainty, the very fact that we all know nothing. I mean, I awaken within the morning not knowing what it’s getting to happen, I don’t know if this love will last, if this job are going to be fine and this causes you to keep going, to figure harder.
Interviewer: Why did you change idea?
Stefania: Because even love is linked to uncertainty, it’s linked to the insecurity of that love mean if we knew that once we are 80 yrs old our life ends, that’s boring. To know that we all find yourself in same way that might me boring. (sorry, i didn’t understand this part)
Interviewer: this is often your first movie with a crucial role?
Stefania: Yes, it’s my first time on Italian screens.
Interviewer: This could be the turning point. Would you wish to possess success in Italy too?
Stefania: Yeah, there are so many amazing directors. I’d love to work with them.
Interviewer: Dramatic or comedic roles?
Stefania: I’m more dramatic.
Interviewer: Why? Someone said “la malinconia è la felicità di sentirsi tristi” (melancholy is the happiness of feeling sad).
Stefania: That’s a nice one. Probably it’s the simplest thanks to describe my mood.
Interviewer: And where does this melancholy come from?
Stefania: I’m a sensitive person, so I tend to crumble easily… but I’m also a robust one. When I reach the bottom I always found a way to get up.
Interviewer: You live in LA now. Would you like to live in Italy?
Stefania: My life now is in LA. I feel LA is my home now. When I say “I’m going back home “ it’s Sicily or LA. But I really like to come here. I usually spend 1 or 2 months, twice a year, in Italy.
Interviewer: Do you live with someone? With a partner?
Stefania: No, I live on my own.
Interviewer: By choice?
Stefania: I’ve never been a person who wanted the white dress, the altar, I never wanted the classical wedding. I think it’s more romantic to stay with a person everyday instead of promising to stay with each other for the rest of your life. Because it’s an equivalent of all dying at 80 years. Boring. I need this uncertainty. With that said i feel I found my soulmate, it’s tough to stay it but…
Interviewer: He is not an actor?
Stefania: No, never.
Interviewer: Why never?
Stefania: One crazy person is enough. Sicilian, actress. I mean bipolarism…
Interviewer: Having a family is a goal? Maternity?
Stefania: I think about maternity a lot. Because I got asked about it repeatedly , since I’m a lady and at his age it’s expected to possess this desire. I have friends that since they were little they wanted to be a mum. I’ve never had this desire. Everyone said “you will have it”, but at the instant it didn’t arrived. I have elaborated a thought: the planet is overpopulated, so there’s no need for everybody to possess kids. So let’s leave the honour to people that actually need it. There’s no got to force me doing something. But I think a lot about adoption, because there’s no due date for that, you can do it whenever you want and you’re changing the life of someone who didn’t have the chance to study or follow a dream. That it’s more interesting to me.
Interviewer: A Sicilian who leaves for LA? Is it hard to follow those rhythms? Two different ways to live.
Stefania: Yeah, absolutely. There are so many differences. In LA you'll feel alone easily, you'll feel abandoned, in Italy or Europe family is your priority. Family is everything. When you are alone and you don’t know what to try to to you only attend you family and that’s what i actually miss. Then the Americans work so much. When I was in London I had 3 month of vacation and that i could have gone to India for 3 months and that i didn’t feel guilty. Now, albeit I take a vacation for the weekend I feel guilty because I desire a should be there working.
Interviewer: the foremost beautiful day within the world, this movie, is it a comedy?
Stefania: Alessandro says it's a “magic comedy” and that i think it’s perfect adjective to explain it because there’s magic, there’s poetry and you laugh tons .
Interviewer: you're not a comedy actress, are you?
Stefania: No, but I found myself doing tons of comic things. Even the GA character it’s the comic relief, the character who brings lightness and comedy to the series. Comedy may be a serious thing in any case , I understood that afterward . Comedy is something really hard.
Interviewer: Making people laugh it’s the toughest thing.
Stefania: Yes, the hardest thing in the world!
Interviewer: The laugh is usually a symbol of civilization. (don’t know how to translate)
Stefania: Absolutely.
Interviewer: Are you ironic, are you self-deprecating?
Stefania: Yes, sometimes i'm a touch bit touchy but I tend to be ironic, then it depends on the circumstances.
Interviewer: What’s your father’s name?
Stefania: Francesco.
Interviewer: And what does he say to you? His daughter is overseas, she has the success she deserves, Siani’s movie. Does he say something to you when you are on the phone with him?
Stefania: He says “cu l’ava diri” (DON’T skills to translate it). I was very attached to my mum and I didn’t want to leave her. So the incontrovertible fact that at 15yrs old I left and that i went back and once I was 18 I moved, brooding about it, it’s like “how did that happen?”. But they are really happy.
Interviewer: And how did it happen? Why did it happen? Things happen or they happen because we make it possible?
Stefania: I concentrate to the messages of life in our lifestyle . The day i made a decision I wanted to be a dancer, I met 3 people that lived in London and that they told me “we think you'll add London, we’ll introduce you to the present agent”, then I met another guy who spoke only Sicilian and English and he told me he would help me. So, all these messages put together were a sign to follow. Then there’s the unconsciousness that you simply have once you are 18-20, once you say “let’s go and let’s see what happens”.
Interviewer: And you went and you furthermore may came back? Because after all life is all about going and coming back
Stefania: Yes, always.
Interviewer: Is it better to go or to come back?
Stefania: Both for different reasons…
Interviewer: Let’s see some photos. Moments lived, the memories, the regrets, a song to understand better Stefania Spampinato. There’s a psychologist who will explain the meaning of recurring dream of Stefania. (He says things). But what was your most beautiful day within the world?
Stefania: Professionally talking, GA and Alessandro Siani are the first two.
Interviewer: Then others will come. Are you expecting them or are you searching for them?
Stefania: I’m a touch fatalistic (?) and that i try not think an excessive amount of about it because the more i feel about it the more I bring bad luck, so I try to study then what has got to happen, happens.
Interviewer: We are here with the actress of The world’s most beautiful day. Who is your inspiration? An Italian actress or a foreign one?
Stefania: Italian actresses… i really like Monica Vitta, Anna Magnani. They bring so many emotions to me. A natural beauty. Recent foreign actresses, I really like Emma Stone and then obviously Meryl Streep.
Interviewer: And actors?
Stefania: Leonardo Di Caprio, i feel he's one among the simplest of our generation. Also Marlon Brando.
Interviewer: Let’s see some photos!
Stefania: Colorful. I had fun, because once I was a child I hated that they took photos of me. So I always cried. Here I had just stopped crying and that i didn’t want to require the photo. It makes me laugh that i select to try to to something where i want to be ahead of cameras.
Interviewer: Another one…
Stefania: this is often mamma Lorenza, when she came to LA. We made a tremendous trip, New York, LA, Las Vegas. She was there for 3 weeks.
mamma Lorenza
Interviewer: What do you think about death? I mean, you had to deal with your mother’s death. Are you scared of death?
Stefania: Yes…
Interviewer: Do you think about it?
Stefania: Yes, I think about it and I hope that’s just the body that leaves. I hope someway the soul will stay there.
Interviewer: Another photo.
Stefania: This is my first job in London. My first show as a dancer. London was an amazing experience. This is Jeff. I have a dog and her name is Jeff. This was my first job in India. He is a Bollywood actor whose name is Hrithik Roshan, and he's famous because he has 3 thumbs and it’s considered as an excellent special thing, a lucky thing.
J.E.F.F (Female)

Interviewer: Another one.
Stefania: this is often from once I did the audition to when the news came out, 2 weeks had passed and that i didn’t ask anyone, because i used to be scared to spoil it but I didn’t want to mislead my family and friends, so I didn’t ask anyone until it had been official.
Stefania: This was from another trip in India. I have been in India 6 times. I really love that country.
Stefania: this is often a thing I do on Instagram and it’s called “100 ways to save lots of the planet” and that i mention changing from plastic toothbrush to bamboo toothbrush.
Stefania: this is often another trip in Thailand, I took the hiking license and while i used to be climbing I took a photograph .
Stefania: this is often one among the backstage photos of Alessandro Siani’s movie, with the youngsters Leone Riva e Sara Ciocca. He is 4yrs old. 3 unforgettable months.
Interviewer: What is your relationship with photos?
Stefania: Not specialized , I don’t adore them. I didn’t want to require them once I was a child .
Interviewer: Why?
Stefania: there's this friend who says that each photo steals from you soul. If you take lots of photos of yourself it’s not good. You see yourself always differently.
Interviewer: So you would never do a calendar?
Stefania: Never say never. But it’s not my priority. I won’t say never because everytime I say never, I always find yourself making that choice.
Interviewer: So “never, always” are adverbs that you simply don’t use?
Stefania: I don’t use day, I say maybe.
Interviewer: The song Stefania choose and why?
Stefania: “La donna riccia “ di Domenico Modugno.
Interviewer: Why this one?
Stefania: Because I knew i might cry, so I said let’s pick something joyful.
Interviewer: Do you cry a lot?
Stefania: Mamma mia, yes. A lot.
Interviewer: once you hear a song, your mind, your heart where do they go?
Stefania: For me, music is therapeutic. I hear music once I have heavy days, or I even have to release stress I sing aloud , or I dance. When I’m alone, I dance with a glass of wine. When I dance at home I don’t care about anyone, I don’t have to be good at it. Music it’s always there
Interviewer: (Phone rings, the pshycologist) Let’s hear a few dream of Stefania.
Stefania: It hasn’t been happening for a year, but a recurring dream I had some years ago was the one where i used to be followed by some people, with bad intentions and once they reached me and that i had a gun but I couldn’t shoot.
Stefania: It’s a typical dream of women. Maybe because women are more scared of being attacked than men, but also because women aren't conscious of some aggressive components of their person. Being chased has two psychic components: the part that runs away and therefore the one that chases. What chases us is that the thing that scare us, in order that they are some aspects that we don’t accept. They are some aspect of personality that we deny. And you can’t shoot them because this stuff don’t’ need to be killed, but we've to “meet” them and control them. (sorry it was hard to translate)
Interviewer: Goodnight (to the psychologist). Stefania, do you accept yourself? Do you like everything about you?
Stefania: No, absolutely not.
Interviewer: Do you question yourself?
Stefania: Yes, everyday. As the doctor was saying, we've to face our “shadows” and check out to form them a part of ourselves, and accept them rather than rejecting them. I’d wish to be more in-tuned with my femininity, my sensuality, but instead I hide it tons .
Interviewer: What do you mean with sensuality?
Stefania: i used to be born during a conservative city, so sensuality wasn’t something you'll have showed openly. Dancing was how to precise that a part of myself. So it had been a journey to simply accept that there was that a part of me. And I’m very protective of that part, I don’t let everyone see it.
Interviewer: Thank you for coming to Sottovoce. We always end the show like this. You make an issue and provides yourself a solution .
Stefania: The famous one. A thing I miss doing, it’s like once we are kids, we attend our mom and she or he gave us the solution . I’d wish to see me as a child who ask to the adult me “Are we gonna make it?” and that i would really like to answer with confidence: “Yes, we’re gonna make it because we've a fireplace inside us”.
Interviewer: What do you mean by fire?
Stefania: The Etna’s fire. So strength, toughness, melancholy resiliency…
Interviewer: Thank you!
